Accessibility Statement

This web site has been designed to be as accessible and usable as possible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability / impairment or browsing set-up, by designing it as far as possible in accordance with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Should you have any difficulty accessing any area of the site, however, please contact me.

Features to enhance the site's accessibility

These features have been provided to help make our site as accessible as possible to as many people as possible

  • On each page a 'skip to main content' link (hidden) allows direct access past the navigation bars to the page's main content
  • All text should be resizable using a browser text-resize option
  • Alternative user-defined style sheets can be applied to allow changes in the site's appearance without affecting the readability or accessibility of the information
  • HTML heading elements have been used to represent page structure, supporting assistive technologies that allow page navigation from heading to heading
  • All images have been given appropriate alternative text
  • A navigation bar linking to the main sections of the site is provided at the top of each page
  • A 'breadcrumb trail' navigation feature is provided to help navigation at the bottom of each page
  • The site has been tested to ensure that it is accessible in a range of browsers

Keyboard shortcuts have been provided for key pages: (An article on access keys for web sites gives some background information):

  • ALT-0: Skip-2-Content
  • ALT-1: Home
  • ALT-2: About
  • ALT-3: Products
  • ALT-4: orders
  • ALT-5: Support
  • ALT-6: Accessibility
  • ALT-7: Site Map

Visual Design

  • Cascading Style Sheets have been used to control the presentation of pages and properly structured markup has been used for content, for a full explanation of the accessibility benefits of this see "why using CSS improves accessibility"
  • If stylesheets are not supported or are turned off, information on the site can still be accessed and read
  • Relative font sizes are used, which allows users to resize text as needed
